Gloveables are by far my kitchen glove of choice.  They make me excited to do dishes!

I bought this retro owl apron at Anthropologie.  Doesn't it just bring you back? Check out how cute the ones below are!  Cute enough to wear alone...

My even NEWER BFF's...

Soooo the drama continues with my craaazy diet plan.  I now have a fungul/bacterial thang going on and have to kill it with LOADS of raw garlic (my husband is stoked) and other interesting remedies.  So if anyone out there has had to do a candida-ish cleanse while you are pregnant, this is for you.  Candida/fungus infections mostly feed on sugar and fermented foods so that makes vinegar, mushrooms, ketchup, agave, mustard, etc all big no-no's.  I have this crazy lip rash going on called perleche or angular cheilitis which is a result of this awesome condition.  I'll tell you what I've tried and in a week, what's worked.

Planetary Herbals Oil of Oregano, 1 fl oz (29.57 ml)

This supposedly works and was out there on a web as a remedy.  I put it on my lips and it burned like medieval torture.  I hear you can mix it with food and oil in cooking so that's the next step.

NOW Foods Neem Oil, 1-Fluid Ounce.

Ok this is great for fungal treatment but it reeks like rotten onions.  I have to figure out how to use it.  I bought the lip balm for the beautiful perleche I'm sporting (I look like the Joker) , and it seems to be soothing them for the moment.

Organix South Thera Neem Stick Lip Therape .15 oz Great for Cold Sores and Fever Blisters

Desert Essence - Tea Tree Oil Skin Ointment, 1 fl oz cream Desert Essence - Lip Rescue With Tea Tree Oil, .15 oz sticks
This is cooling and soothing and you can put it on your hands or lips to treat rashes and other skin conditions.

MY CABINET FRIENDS...

SweetLeaf All Natural Zero Calories SteviaPlus, 100 Packets, 3.5 Ounce Boxes (Pack of 2)

So these are my newest friends to the weird food craze.  The only sweeteners I can use are stevia, xylitol and raw honey.  They are actually great and keep me healthy.  Did you know xylitol can reduce chances of tooth decaytransmittal from mom to baby in the 1st 2 years?  Love it. From wikipedia...
Xylitol (from Greek ξύλον - xyl[on], "wood" + suffix -itol, used to denote sugar alcohols) is a sugar alcohol sweetener used as a naturally occurring sugar substitute. It is found in the fibers of many fruits and vegetables, including various berries, corn husks, oats, and mushrooms.[2] It can be extracted from corn fiber,[3] birch, raspberries, plums, and corn. Xylitol is roughly as sweet as sucrose with only two-thirds the food energy. As with most sugar alcohols, initial consumption can result in bloating, diarrhea, and flatulence, although generally rather less so than other sugar alcohols like sorbitol.

Ok.  this stuff is INSANE.  I bought it today and tried it with reservations but I knew I was on the right track when the cashier at Whole Foods said; "Have you had this stuff?  Its AMAZING".  I went home ASAP and scooped some out on a beanito black bean chip.  Its really to die for.  AND the only ingredients are raw garlic, flax oil & lemon or something.  Its genius.  Go get some now.

Lunch & Dinner for friends

Sunday, July 25, 2010
I've been quite the kitchen canary during this pregnancy.  Last Wednesday I had a friend over for lunch and made her one of my favorite deconstructed salads with a nice little mound of chicken salad on top.  I put veganaise and quinoa in the chicken salad and it was phenom.  We of course followed the meal with Elana's pantry's gluten-free brownies.

Then Friday night I was a personal chef for my friend Alex who just had a baby.  I made her salmon roasted in foil with lemons and shallots.  Its one of my fave Giada recipes.  I served it with steamed green beans, quinoa and crunchy potatoes.  Yum!

I REALLY miss sushi.

So this post is dedicated to it.  Torture.  Enjoy.

Night night.

Bahston

Boston's best pizza.  NO, I didn't have this time since I ate fudge and cake.  Bad, bad.

Random shots of my parent's house - so Bostonian!
