Girls Dinner Party

I love having girls dinner parties.  Even if everyone cancels at the last minute.  I had my 2 girls Kate and Norma, enough flowers to crown Miss Universe and a delish Ina Garten recipe for Mustard Roasted Fish.  I served some Chardonnay that we just got from our fave wine deal site, WTSO, a curried white bean dip which I'm obsessed with and a salad with all kinds of goodies in it.

The pie is one I've been wanting to make from Natural Health mag or Body & Soul or something.  Its cream cheese, yogurt and ginger and there's like 1 T of honey in the whole thing.  The crust was super easy it was just flax granola and light butter.

We sat and chatted at the table for hours.  I love that and it rarely happens these days.  Its fun to linger over food and continue drinking wine at the dinner table.  It reminds me of the holidays.  So do these rainy days.  Yay Fall.

What I bought Wednesday

The Qbel was stale and chewy.  Super bummed

So I'm on a Gluten free kick again so what

Check out actual size.  Bigger than a 20lb dog.

Giant Goodness

I am excited about the stuff I picked up today.  I tried to get most of it down on the drive home, that's always fun.  I liked the texture of the Snikiddy snakcs but the ketchup flavor was a little too crazy for me, too sweet.  I read about the Alpsnack somewhere, that it was good but it had an overwhelming chewy texture when I expected it not too and too much coconut.  The Qbel has mad potential but apparently I got shafted with the one stale one.  I've tried their products before and they were awesome.  Like a healthy kit kat.

However...
I am absolutely head over heels in love with this muffin!  It is insane!  The size, the nutritionals the calories??? I must have checked the label about 5 times.  I kept pulling out the package and saying really? REALLY???  It's hard to find a baked good that's healthy, low sugar and super low in calories.  110 per muffin! And they're HUGE! I intend to buy every flavor and stock pile them next time I'm at Sprouts.

A Perfect Day of Eating

Pamela's gluten-free pancakes

Funnel Cake (Google images)
Pepper Bellie (G.I.)
Hamachi, tofu and tuna tartar tacos at Hot's Kitchen

Quinoa salad at Hot's

A perfect day of eating always starts with pancakes for me.  I started the day with pancakes and eggs.  Then we all went down to the Hometown Fair for lunch.  I had a pepperbelly which I crave all year.  Its a cut open bag of fritos with chilli, cheese, onion, sour cream, guac and jalapenos in it.  I washed it down with a funnel cake I split with my friend Alex.  Holy gut bomb.  Then dinner was on the lighter side.  A quinoa salad and hamachi and tuna tacos.

Tomorrow starts my Cabo/Halloween diet. :)

Nighty Night.  My tummy hurts.
